How Cannabidiol (CBD) Works
The mechanism of action of cannabinoids, and by extension cannabidiol, is complex. As we mention in the section “What is the Endocannabinoid System (ESR)”, our body is full of cannabinoid receptors.
Imagine these receptors as “locks”. where cannabidiol acts as a key, activating various mechanisms to enhance homeostasis. Because these receptors are found in multiple organs in the human body (in various parts of the nervous system, lungs, liver, bones, thyroid gland, etc.), the applications of this substance are numerous, as opposed to the usual mechanism of action of many pharmaceuticals.
